Students critically examine the role of media in influencing Canadian youths’ ability to achieve “full development of the human personality. ” They specifically focus on media messages about gender and ethnicity that inhibit people’s equal experience of their human rights. Students draw on personal experience and also investigate the messages sent through local newspapers as well as engage in discussion, taking on other’s point of view to imagine how they might receive these messages.
