    Nominations Open for the Manitoba Human Rights Awards

    Do you know someone who has made a significant contribution to human rights in Manitoba?  Do you know someone who has promoted respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms in Manitoba? Nominations must be received by November 1, 2017 at midnight. 

    -The Human Rights Commitment Award honours an individual or group who has worked to promote human rights and fundamental freedoms in Manitoba.

    -The Sybil Shack Youth Award honours an individual or group aged 25 or under that has worked to promote human rights in Canada and abroad.

    -The Reconciliation Award will be given out this year for the second time only to recognize a significant contribution to reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in Manitoba.  

    -The inaugural Aaron Berg Award will be given to an individual involved in the legal profession who has contributed to the advancement of human rights.

    A Selection Committee made up of one representative of each of the partner organizations will review all nominations.  Award winners will be notified in early November.
    (All current employees and Board members of the Manitoba Human Rights Commission, Canadian Human Rights Commission  and Manitoba Association of Rights and Liberties are excluded.)
    The 2017 Manitoba Human Rights Awards reception will be held on December 7, 2017.
